FARO REMAKE SPLASH: the common thread of plastic circularity

A meeting for discussion and inspiration dedicated to the reuse, recovery and recycling of end-of-life materials.

On Wednesday 24 September, Laprima Plastics hosted the FARO REMAKE SPLASH event, a meeting for discussion and inspiration dedicated to the reuse, recovery and recycling of end-of-life materials.

The evening, organised in the evocative setting of the Isola Vicentina plant, represented an important moment of dialogue between institutions, academia and business, with the aim of imagining new perspectives for sustainability and innovation in the plastics sector.

The event opened with an institutional welcome from the Mayor of Isola Vicentina, Francesco Gonzo, who has always been closely involved with issues relating to the reuse, recycling and regeneration of plastics.

This was followed by the screening of the documentary “Il Faro – Il meraviglioso viaggio della Banda Rulli Frulli” (The Lighthouse – The Wonderful Journey of the Rulli Frulli Band), directed by Diego Gavioli and Gianluca Marcon, which offered a story of creativity and community, in which musical instruments are created from end-of-life post-consumer materials.

The evening also featured speeches by:

Prof. Giovanni Luigi Fontana, President of the Olympic Academy of Vicenza, who presented the REMAKE Project, a cultural and research framework for Laprima Plastics’ activities;

Prof. Michele Modesti, University of Padua, who illustrated the principles and challenges of plastic recycling;

Prof. Carlo Boaretti, University of Padua, who presented the SPLASH Project, winner of the Cariverona Foundation’s Research and Development competition, dedicated to technologies for transforming waste and refuse into new resources.

The common thread of the evening – FARO, REMAKE, SPLASH – represented the three souls of circularity:

reuse, recovery and regeneration, united by the vision of a more sustainable and conscious future.

With FARO REMAKE SPLASH, Laprima Plastics confirms its commitment to promoting an advanced recycling culture, capable of combining scientific research, industrial innovation and environmental awareness.
