Tomaso De Luca currently lives and works between Milan and Berlin. He works on the problems of representation, the glitches, the misunderstandings and errors that arise in the translation of reality into language. Through the sculpture, design and a "dysfunctional" use of architecture, the artist investigates the relationship of the subject with the object, as the impulses and symbols that are incarnated in it, and the relationship between the body and space - that it is physical, cultural, political. Contrary to the tame objects and spaces that are proposed by the Capital - functional, obedient, capable and welcoming - the artist contrasts a world of bent images, at the same time attractive and repelling, which instead force the wildest aspects of the perception, within an always recognizable, familiar, intimate paradigm. Tomaso De Luca graduated in 2011 in Painting and Visual Arts at NABA, Milan. His personal exhibitions include Garbo's, Rome (IT), Monitor, Rome (IT), Monitor Studio NY (US), Künstlerhaus Bremen (DE), Van Horbourg, Zurich (CH), IIC Paris, Paris (FR), MACRO Rome (IT). He took part in group exhibitions at IIC New York (US), CAC Vilnius (LT), American Academy in Rome, Rome (IT), Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Foundation, Turin (IT), Parque Lage, Rio de Janeiro (BR), GNAM, Rome (IT), Center d'Art Contemporain, Noisy-le-Sec, Paris (FR). He was a fellow of the Cy Twombly Fellowship at the American Academy in Rome (IT), he participated in the FURLA PRIZE, IX edition (IT), LES PROMESSES DE L'ART, program of residency at IIC Paris (FR).
