From Christmas 2024 to a new life in 2025 and beyond: the AIRC tree is reborn as a solidarity keychain

During the 2024 Christmas season, Fondazione AIRC illuminated the squares of Milan with a large, iconic Christmas tree — a symbol of hope and support for cancer research.
Once the initiative came to an end, the plastic used to create the tree’s cone structure was recovered, regenerated and transformed into secondary raw material, giving life to a small but meaningful object: the AIRC keychain made from regenerated plexiglass, now available as a solidarity product.

This circular economy project was made possible thanks to the collaboration with Alisea, a strategic partner and B Corp company actively committed to sustainability and social inclusion. Alisea commissioned the processing of the recovered plastic material for the production of the keychains.

A concrete example of how plastic from a public installation can be recovered and reused to create new, useful objects — reducing waste while generating social value from secondary raw materials.
A project that brings together recycling and solidarity, under the shared values of sustainability and scientific research.
